Tudor Syndicate

About this property

A Grade II listed retail building at 15 Davygate, in the heart of York's central shopping area between St Sampson's Square and St Helen's Square, with New Street opposite connecting Davygate to Coney Street. The building has a distinctive Tudor style frontage, with timber framed bay windows, leaded glazing and a double timber retail display front beneath a tiled pitched roof, and extends to approximately 5,670 sq ft over a basement, ground floor and upper floors. It was built in 1898 as a café and ballroom, served as a bank from 1957, and has been in retail use since 1982.

The whole building is let to Hobbs Limited, the clothing retailer, which has occupied it since 1996. The ground floor is used for sales, with storage, staff accommodation and ancillary space on the upper floors and in the basement.
