Nessgate Syndicate

Ousegate House occupies a prominent corner at 2-4 Nessgate in central York, with return frontages to King Street and Low Ousegate, both of which run down to the River Ouse. It is a period three storey building with attic and basement, of traditional and ornate brick construction with stone dressings and rendering under a tiled roof, and was originally built as a public house and hotel before being converted to its current uses in the early 1990s. Nessgate carries traffic through the heart of the city and sits alongside Spurriergate, Coney Street and High Ousegate, York's busiest shopping streets.

The syndicate holds the ground floor and basement, which have been converted into a single retail unit of about 3,315 sq ft at street level and 1,668 sq ft below. The unit is let to SG No. 8 Ltd, which trades from it as Sostrene Grene. The upper floors have been sold off and are for conversion to residential apartments.
