Lendal Syndicate

2 and 2a Lendal is a Grade II listed former congregational chapel on the south side of Lendal in York city centre, close to the junction with Museum Street and the entrance to Museum Gardens. It was built in 1816 as a chapel and keeps that appearance outside, of part rendered brick over three storeys including the lower ground floor, with large arched windows to the frontage. Lendal is semi-pedestrianised and runs into St Helen's Square, and has become a food and drink street, with Pizza Express and Costa Coffee among the neighbouring occupiers. The building extends to about 6,248 sq ft.

The property is divided into two restaurants. The larger, 2 Lendal, is let to Zizzi Restaurants Limited and takes the first floor with part of the ground and lower ground floors; an open plan staircase rises through what was the chapel's assembly area. The smaller, 2a, is let to D & F Rustique Limited, which trades as Nola on the ground and lower ground floors.
