Dobson House Syndicate

About this property

Dobson House is a single storey, open plan office building set back from Northumbrian Way, the link road through the commercial area of Killingworth, about six miles north of Newcastle city centre and close to the A189 and A19. It was designed by its tenant for its own occupation in 1969 and was one of the first Bürolandschaft offices in Britain. It was extended in 1986 and completely refurbished by the tenant in 2006. The elevations combine brick and metal sheet, with narrow low level windows and a band of glazing above head height running along all four sides, and a large glazed lightwell sits at the centre of the office floor. The building extends to about 13,283 sq ft net internal on a landscaped site of a little over an acre, with a dedicated car park.

The whole building is let to FaulknerBrowns LLP, which has been its only occupier. The accommodation is mainly open plan, with a reception and informal meeting area, glazed meeting rooms, a break out and canteen area, and a plan room, printing room and model building workshops.
