Coney Street Syndicate

A large shop on the pedestrianised part of Coney Street in the centre of York, at its junction with Spurriergate and Market Street. The original three storey brick building fronts Coney Street with a frontage of around 75 ft and has been extended to the rear over ground and basement level, so that the back of the building looks onto the River Ouse. It is one of the few stores on the street with rear servicing, which enters at basement level from a side passageway running down to the river. The site covers about 0.44 acres and the accommodation totals approximately 39,242 sq ft over basement, ground, first and second floors.

The whole building is let to Boots UK Limited. The ground floor is an open plan sales area, the basement holds pharmaceutical preparation, packing and storage, and the first floor provides offices, a canteen and staff accommodation. The second floor is no longer in use.
